Grading

European Shinsa Results

At the recent European shinsa for 3 dan to 6 dan in April in Paris, Vienna, and Frankfurt, no less than four Issha members found favour with the judges and came home with new grades. This Friday was the first time that all four successful candidates were together in the dojo, so it was made into a special day.

First, the lucky ones performed a mochimato sharei. For the new 3 dan, it was his very first time, but he pulled it off brilliantly.

The day was also proclaimed a kimono day, so everybody could dress in their finest.

For the fika break (Google it!), George had made us a delicious mato cake which was enjoyed by all.

The club now has a new 3 dan in George Cheng, while Christine Alveblad and Fredrik Karlström both passed their 4 dan tests. Lastly, Issha’s head instructor Knut Högvall passed his 6 dan test, and thereby became the first Swede to ever reach that rank.
