Final practice of 2023. A light-hearted shakai, and then a bit to eat. See you all next year!
Issha had two participants in the 100 arrow taikai during the Martial Arts Festival at Älvsjömässan this weekend. It's an endurance test, where they shot almost continually for seven hours. When it was over, our members had shown their mettle—Knut Högvall took the silver, and Christine Alveblad (both national team members) joined a shoot-off for the bronze. Unfortunately, this time Christine had to make do with 5th place. Vladimir Cvetcovic and Rolf Svensson, both from Seikyukai, took the gold and bronze, respectively.
Congratulations to all involved! Good job!
Issha Kyudo Kai took a grand slam at the Swedish Championships on Sunday, taking all three gold medals— individuals, team, and cup.
Knut Högvall won the individual event in front of Vladimir Svetcovic from Seikyukai and Christine Alveblad, also from Issha.
In the team event, Knut and Christine were both on the winning team, together with Per Ybo from Hokushinkan.
Finally, Knut and Christine had a shoot-off for the gold in the Swedish Cup, where Christine emerged victorious. The bronze was taken by Uwe Klosa from Hokushinkan.
A great day for Issha Kyudo Kai!
Congratulations to all involved!

At the Swedish Cup 3 in Linköping, Christine Alveblad from Issha took the bronze medal, and Christine now leads the total cup with only one more competition to go!

The spring term finished with the traditional club championships, which had a nail-biting finish. After a tie-break, Kari took the gold medal while Ingemar got the silver. The bronze medal went to Christine, this, too, after a tie-break. Congratulations!
The Nagoya seminar is over. No new dan grades, but as usual we learned a lot. Both Christine and Knut were selected for the final day demonstration—a feather in the cap for Issha!
